Lake Ouachita Day 2

We were up early again. Breakfast and out to the marina. As soon as we got into the car, the bottom let out and it started pouring rain. Gloom set in. We drove to the marina anyway and Weenie got out with her bloody mary and headed down to talk to the guys. She came sauntering back and said the rain wasn't even on the radar. We all got out and walked down to get on the boat.

Weenie and I started the day off by shotgunning a beer.

Around 1:00 Dyna and Andy showed up. Weenie and I are leaving for Texas this Friday and we are missing Andy's shower. So, we decided to ask Andy and Dyna up for the day to get to see her since we are leaving for 10 days.

Andy brought Sangria and shooters. We loaded all their stuff on board and headed back out. It would rain and Weenie would take us to another part of the lake where it was sunny. She's good like that.

Then we did shooters and everything changed.

It was time to start snapping pictures at a rapid rate.

Then Becks drove us to Lezzie Island.

Dyna jumped off and found a rock to rest on.

The rest of us got in to cool off.

We got off the boat around 7:00 and Mooey cooked some brats on the grill. They were super yummy. Weenie, Dyna and I stayed up a little too late and felt like doo doo the next day. Oh well, I could nap when I got home!

Lake Ouachita Day 1

Last Thursday, we headed to Arkansas to Lake Ouachita. It's one of our favorite places to visit. I think we finally arrived around 9:00. The office was closed but they had taped the key to the bulletin board outside.

We got up around 8:00 and ate some breakfast. Mooey and Beck were already up and about. We made our way down to the marina and paid for the 30 foot pontoon boat. It was already hot.

Weenie drove us around and it wasn't long before we had to get in.

It was a gorgeous day and the beer was flowing!

It was a good day.

We got off the boat around 6:30 and Weenie made pork tenderloin for dinner. I was a lobster. It was lights out at 11:00.

Blog Birthday!

Yesterday was my blog's 1st birthday and I missed it. I'm a loser. Happy Birthday anyway!

3 Day Weekend in Milan

Weenie and I headed to Milan for a weekend of golfing and fishing. We arrived at the country club around 6:00 and saddled up to the bar for beers. My dad finished golfing around 7:00 and came and got us and we went out on the course and found June and her friends that were playing on #6. I decided to hit a few since it was last year the last time I played. We played until it was too dark to see and then went back in the bar for more beers. I think we left at 10:00 and drove out to Christmasville to their house. It's way out in the country. I've never seen so many stars in my life!

Up early the next morning (7:00!) and out to the course for the ladies' 2 person scramble. June and I were on a team. We headed out to the tee box on #6 at 8:30. I was very nervous. I always get really nervous before we tee off.

We had some good holes (birdie) and some bad holes (bogey) but after our 7th hole, the bottom fell out and it started to pour. We sat under a shed for about 30 minutes. My dad and Weenie were in another cart watching us. It finally let up for a minute and we headed back to the bar. We looked at the radar and figured the tournament was over. It would be hours before the rain quit. Lunch was served and prizes given out. June and I won second place in our flight! $100! Awesome!

We headed home for a nap and some BBQ from Grandpa's. Around 4:30, my dad called and said they were having the couple's scramble that afternoon. We all got ready and went back to the club. We filled up the cooler and went out on the course. We shot 7 under and won!

We only had one more beer and then went home. Dad was cooking ribeyes. They turned out to be the biggest ribeyes I've ever seen. They were delicious! We didn't eat until around 9:00 so it was lights out after dinner.

We got up around 9:00 the next day. Fishing was on the agenda. We messed around and had breakfast and all showered. It was about 1:00 before we left for Hampton's pond.

We all gathered on the dock and wormed up. It wasn't long before we got started hauling them in.

Me and Dad caught a couple of bass.

We all caught a bunch of nice sized brim and bass. It was a productive day. I bet we caught more than 30 fish. Around 6:00 we packed it in and headed home. We were having Alaskan King Crablegs for dinner!

I went to bed around midnight and we got up around 9:00. Ate breakfast real quick and headed back out to the pond. We kept our worms from the day before. My first cast landed me this...

Then Weenie pulled this giant brim in!

We had to cut our fishing short because we had to get back to Memphis. We went out to the club for a burger and to say bye to everyone. It was a really relaxing 3 days!

Memorial Day Pool Party

The 26th was the official opening of Mooey's pool. We celebrated the occasion with a party. I think this might be the 3rd annual rib party or it might be the 4th. Anyway, Weenie was making her unbelievable ribs plus drunk chicken!

We arrived around 11:00 to start prepping the ribs. I lit the fire and Weenie began with the rub. The chicken was to go on later because it takes less time to cook.

People finally started arriving around 1:30. It was a trickle at first and then all of the sudden it was packed.

It was time to take the ribs off. The chicken wasn't ready. Torrence was taking her scrummy shrimp out of the oven at the same time.

After everyone ate every rib we cooked, it was time to tear into the drunk chicken. It was falling apart it was so juicy. Then it was time to get serious about drinking some beer!

Tiddies! I just love these shoes. Weenie wears them all the time!

We emptied this 3 times.

Mooey kicked us out around 11:30 and we headed to the One More. Only a few of us made the trip though.
